Writing Prompt #1

Close your eyes briefly. Think of one object that's in the room and focus on it. Without opening your eyes, recall as much detail as you can about it. After three minutes or so, open your eyes and write about that object without looking at it.

The object I choose is my purse. It is new from Ross. The color of the exterior and interior of the bag is brown. It is leathery to the touch, but not real leather because the bag was cheap. On the outside of the bag, there is one pouch on the front, close to the bottom. That's where I store all my items that I use on a daily basis. My essentials. Lip gloss, cell phone, mints, blotting paper, etc. Small items. On the left and right sides of the bag are two more pouches, only smaller and with no closing flap. On the left side I have my hand lotion. I rarely use the hand lotion unless my skin is unbearably dry. On the right side I store my chewing gum. I only chew the gum when I am hungry or didn't have time to brush my teeth.

Inside the bag, there is alot of room! Sometimes I find it hard to get what I want right away. My money bag will be somewhere on the bottom and my hand searches for it for what seems like hours. The inside is where I store my larger items, such as my planner, umbrella, books, etc. The inside doesn't feel as nice as the outside. When you feel the texture of the interior cloth, you can tell it is a cheap cloth, like a bad imitation linen. There is a cell phone pouch on the inside, but I never use it because my phone always falls out and then I have to spend hours trying to find it among the rest of my goodies.

The handles of the bag are made to look like belt buckles. You aren't actually supposed to unbuckle them. I like the belt buckle design.

Overall, I love my new bag. It is everything I am looking for in an everyday multi-usage container. The only downside is I want to put more and more stuff into it because there is so much room. But that is not the bag's fault. Only mine.
