Writing Prompt #1

Close your eyes briefly. Think of one object that's in the room and focus on it. Without opening your eyes, recall as much detail as you can about it. After three minutes or so, open your eyes and write about that object without looking at it.

The object I choose is my purse. It is new from Ross. The color of the exterior and interior of the bag is brown. It is leathery to the touch, but not real leather because the bag was cheap. On the outside of the bag, there is one pouch on the front, close to the bottom. That's where I store all my items that I use on a daily basis. My essentials. Lip gloss, cell phone, mints, blotting paper, etc. Small items. On the left and right sides of the bag are two more pouches, only smaller and with no closing flap. On the left side I have my hand lotion. I rarely use the hand lotion unless my skin is unbearably dry. On the right side I store my chewing gum. I only chew the gum when I am hungry or didn't have time to brush my teeth.

Inside the bag, there is alot of room! Sometimes I find it hard to get what I want right away. My money bag will be somewhere on the bottom and my hand searches for it for what seems like hours. The inside is where I store my larger items, such as my planner, umbrella, books, etc. The inside doesn't feel as nice as the outside. When you feel the texture of the interior cloth, you can tell it is a cheap cloth, like a bad imitation linen. There is a cell phone pouch on the inside, but I never use it because my phone always falls out and then I have to spend hours trying to find it among the rest of my goodies.

The handles of the bag are made to look like belt buckles. You aren't actually supposed to unbuckle them. I like the belt buckle design.

Overall, I love my new bag. It is everything I am looking for in an everyday multi-usage container. The only downside is I want to put more and more stuff into it because there is so much room. But that is not the bag's fault. Only mine.

Dickey's is one of the best barbecue places in Alpharetta. The location on Highway 9 is new and spacious. Dine-in guests get free ice cream with their meal. Their sandwiches and meat plates are affordable and delicious! I walked into Dickey's yesterday expecting it to be like Shane's rib shack. Boy, was I wrong; I was very much impressed. Their menu is easy to read, with plenty of options to choose from. I chose the Quarter Plate for $6.75, which is 1/4 lb. of your choice meat, 2 sides, and a roll. I couldn't finish the whole meal, it was so much food!

For my meat I chose Southern pulled pork (I love BBQ pork), with my sides being Mac & Cheese and Green Beans with Bacon. The Green Beans with Bacon was watery and bland, so I didn't enjoy it much. The Mac & Cheese was real good. There was a perfect blend of cheese and macaroni so it wasn't too rich or overwhelming. Just the way I like it! The pulled pork was good, but what made it exceptional was the dipping sauce. You have three choices to choose from: Sweet, Dickey's Original, or Spicy. I tried the sweet, and I tried the Dickey's Original. The Dickey's Original BBQ sauce was orgasmic. I couldn't get enough!

Sarku Japan

Sarku Japan: Teriyaki and Sushi Express.
5304 Windward Parkway, Suite A-102 Milton GA

Immediately, when reading the sign advertising teriyaki and sushi, I think pricey, high-end Japanese food. I was pleasantly surprised when I entered the establishment. It was very casual and friendly. You order and pay first, then you have the pleasure of watching the cooks prepare your meal.

For lunch, I chose the Chicken Teriyaki for $5.69. You have the choice of fried rice, white rice, or fried noodles to go with the main entree. I chose white rice because I was afraid the chicken teriyaki would be smothered in teriyaki sauce like so many other asian restaurants. Another surprise! The chicken was flavored just right without the extra sauce smothering my rice. It was alot of food for one person.

Another enjoyable experience was the soda machine. Created by Coca-Cola, this soda machine dispensed about 106 different kinds of drink products. You simply use the touch screen to select what you would like to drink. This was the first time I encountered the new Coca-Cola fountain dispenser. I probably spent a good 10 minutes just navigating through all the choices. When I pressed the Powerade button, I was taken to another screen where I could choose among at least 7 Powerade flavors. It was so extraordinary! I eventually settled on Barq's Root Beer when a line of annoyed customers started forming behind me.

All in all, I give Sarku a thumbs up. The only disappointment as far as food, was the choice of veggie that came with the chicken teriyaki. It was bland, 90% cabbage, and unappeasing to the eye. Everything else was great. I will be dining again.
